John Wainwright & Co has opened a new aggregates operation in Marchwood, serving Southampton and surrounding areas.
One of the South West's independent suppliers of construction materials, with over 135 years of industry experience, John Wainwright and Company, has officially launched aggregate supply operations from its new Marchwood site, bringing aggregate supply closer to projects across Southampton and the surrounding area.
The opening of the Marchwood site marks an important step in the company's continued growth, expanding its reach further into the South.
Since securing the Marchwood site in August 2025, Wainwright has been preparing for operations and investing in a new sand and gravel processing plant. Aggregate is now available for collection and delivery from the site.
As the site continues to develop, Wainwright will also introduce a Ready Mix Concrete plant, expected to become operational in July 2026, followed by an Asphalt facility planned for 2027/28.
"We're excited to see aggregate sales and collections go live at Wainwright Marchwood," said James Howarth, the company's Development Director. "This is the first phase in an ambitious programme of growth in the Southampton area. We're looking forward to supporting local projects and customers with trusted aggregate supply, available for both collection and delivery."
