NORTHAMPTON: Travis Perkins is fitting anti-syphon devices to its truck fleet to prevent fuel theft.

Travis has a 1700-vehicle fleet and, in common with large fleet operators, is vulnerable to skimming, where small amounts of diesel are syphoned from the top of the tank.

Collectively, such thefts of a few litres a day represent a significant loss and cost to companies.

Anti-syphon devices are easy to fit, require no modification to the fuel tank, and allow filling at up 120 litres/minute.
