YORK: The North East's leading independent plumbers' merchants has expanded out of its region by opening a branch in Yorkshire.
YORK: The North East's leading independent plumbers' merchants has expanded out of its region by opening a branch in Yorkshire.
TAPS plumbers' merchants – a major North East brand for heating, plumbing and renewables opened in York. The branch has created five new jobs.
The branch is situated at the city's Yorvale Business Park, taking over a warehouse, trade counter and bathroom showroom which will serve both the trade and the public.
TAPS is a sister company of Thompson Building Centres which was founded in 1955 and has won numerous awards in both the North East and from its own industry.
This latest opening is the eighth for the TAPS brand since its inception in 2003. Branches are located in Sunderland, Newcastle, Gateshead, Durham, South Shields and now York.
Managing director Anne Ganley said: "It has always been a great ambition of mine to expand into Yorkshire. To finally be able to open our first branch in York is a great honour and I am extremely proud that TAPS can now be associated with York's rich history."
Dave Harding, TAPS' sales director said the company was "extremely happy" to have moved into Yorkshire.
"York is a fantastic city and we believe that TAPS will be able to offer first-class products and service to both trade customers and the general public," he said.
