CAMBRIDGE: Ridgeons builders' merchant helped rock-band Soulweaver raised £800 for injured soldiers at a charity gig for football fans.
The St Neots band performed outside Cambridge United's Abbey Stadium before Saturday's victory over Kidderminster, collecting £270 for the Armed Forces charities Help for Heroes and Erskine Hospital.
The band also raised £250 in downloads of its charity single Remembrance Day, written in honour of British forces fighting abroad, while a gig at the Seven Stars pub in Newmarket Road raised another £60.
The £250 donation from Ridgeons, took the total to £800 in just 10 days.
