UK: Yesterday's Budget will see the Government reducing the regulatory costs on the housebuilding industry as part of the £1.25bn savings to be achieved through the Built Environment scheme.

The move is part of the 2010-2015 Simplification Target. The Government intends to set out its further progress in the 2011 Budget.

The Government also plans to manage assets and property more effectively by creating new strategic property vehicles by April 2011.

This will help realise savings of £5bn a year in property running costs and £20bn savings in assets disposal by 2020.
