BILSTON: Thieves smashed their way into a B&Q store in the Black Country yesterday and stole power tools and fires.
Thieves broke through the brick and block wall at around 3am to enter the store. The hole was directly behind a section of the shop selling electric fires, heaters and power tools.
The thieves stole a pallet of 100 Makita drills worth £9900 along with numerous high value electric fires and other stock.
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for information.
In 2010, raiders smashed their way into the same branch twice in less than a month. They smashed their way into the main office and making off with money.
On both occasions they tried to smash glass in the doors to the main entrance.
When that failed, they forced a fire door.
Update: Haul in Bilston B&Q burglary rises to £34,000
The value of goods taken during a robbery at the B&Q superstore in Bilston has jumped to £34,000, police said yesterday.
Burglars smashed a hole in the wall of the store on the Spring Vale Industrial Estate and took electric fires, heaters and power tools. Police continue to review CCTV footage of the drama that happened at about 3am on Monday.
