LONDON: Construction of the futuristic steel sculpture, the ArcelorMittal Orbit, is the last remaining construction project to complete on the Olympic site.
The ArcelorMittal Orbit, designed by Turner Prize-winning artist Anish Kapoor, is a 115m high structure costing £19.1m.
The ODA (London Olympic Delivery Authority) appointed two rental consortia to provide equipment on the £5.5b construction project. The Hire Alliance, which includes A-Plant, works on the south part of the site of the site and a second consortium called Construction Site Solutions - comprising Speedy Hire, Lavendon, BSS Group and Hewden - is operating on the North of the site.
They will also supply materials and equipment for the final landscaping works.
