LONDON: Kingfisher, parent company of B&Q, raised its final dividend for the first time in five years.

The move followed a successful year of trading. Tough trading conditions in the UK and abroad had previously forced the board to cut dividend payments in the previous two years.

The company's performance appears to have recovered. Profits at Kingfisher for the year to January 2010 soared by 44% to £547m.
