COVENTRY: The Sustainable Building Guide from Jewson has been recognised in the Climate Week Awards 2011 in the 'Best Initiative by a Large Business' category, at a ceremony in London.
The first of its kind in the construction industry, the 64-page guide helps put sustainability into practice for both new builds and the refurbishment of existing buildings.
"Jewson has long pioneered issues of sustainability in the industry and we are absolutely delighted that the Sustainable Building Guide has been recognised in the Climate Week Awards," commented Malcolm Gough, Market Director of Sustainability at Jewson.
"The objective of the guide was clear: to provide construction professionals with clear and unbiased guidance on how to adapt day-to-day working practices to ensure a more sustainable build. It has proved extremely popular with our customers and it will continue to play an integral part in Jewson's drive to promote and support sustainable building."
