SURREY: A planning inspector will rule on Travis Perkins' plans to a build a two-storey warehouse for City Plumbing Supplies and nine flats in Elmbridge.

Elmbridge Council opposed the scheme calling the plans 'unsatisfactory and dangerous' but withdrew its objections at an appeal in July. A planning inspector will rule on the scheme following a public inquiry held last week.

The Travis Perkins scheme would see empty high street retail premises demolished but met with opposition from Walton Central ward councillor Chris Sadler who presented 176 signatures of protest to the inspector.
