Persimmon has reported that new sales reservations for the first three months of the year were up 12% on a year ago. It also said that its £1.14bn order book has caught up with last year's levels.
The housebuilder plans to complete the same number of homes this year as it did in 2010, with the bulk coming in the second half. The company said it was focusing on building "pricier homes".
Taylor-Wimpey commented that market conditions remained "resilient" and reported an order book of 5681 houses – up 21% since the beginning of the year, according to the BBC. The housebuilder, however, expected conditions to remain flat during the rest of 2011.
