LONDON: The Government has confirmed an extra £150m for the Get Britain Building fund. The additional cash boosts the total available to £570m and will help 200 stalled sites from commercial loans to building firms.
The fund was three times over-subscribed and the Homes and Communities Agency yesterday shortlisted the strongest bids from nearly 400.
The list includes: Marine Wharf, Lewisham plans for 189 new homes; Marmaville, Kirklees plans for 65 homes; Bromford Lane, Birmingham plans for 42 homes; Ancoats, Manchester plans for 128 homes; and Finzels Reach, Bristol plans for 204 homes.
The fund is targeted at sites with planning permission already in place to get work started as soon as possible.
