SEVENOAKS: H+H, the UK’s leading manufacturer of aircrete building products, has appointed Neil Thomas to the critical director of housing role. Mr Thomas joins H+H from British Gypsum where he was responsible for sales to national housebuilders.
Mark Oliver, managing director of H+H underlines the importance of this role to the company: “Much of H+H’s continued success is down to the longstanding and close relationships we enjoy with leading housebuilders. Working together allows us to participate in experimental projects (such as recent Code 6 designs) as well as enabling us to build an unrivalled understanding of the market requirements for aircrete.”
“Housebuilding has been having a tough time over the last couple of years,” Mr Thomas admits, “but I admire the way that H+H has responded with innovation, quality improvements and an unswerving commitment to improving its sustainability credentials. There are challenges and huge opportunities – so this is a very exciting move for me.”
Mr Thomas will be taking over from George Straw, a well-known and widely respected industry character, who retired in February 2011.
