HIGH WYCOMBE: Lancashire-based timber merchants Derek Fox & Son has achieved FSC certification with BM TRADA Certification.
FSC certification has become a 'must have' said office manager Barbara McCormick. "We have certainly been able to hold on to key clients such as the Environment Agency and local authorities by being able to offer Chain of Custody certification."
The company, she explained, has always prided itself on offering quality timber "but nowadays companies want the reassurance that their timber comes from sustainable sources. Achieving FSC underlines to that we are aiming to meet their requirements at all levels".
Established more than 40 years ago, the company supplies farm and motorway fencing, landscaping and construction timber, decking, garden products and furniture, from its sites in Preston and Chorley, using its own transport fleet.
