KIRKALDY: B&aQ has had to introduced noise reduction measures following a series of complaints about operations at its B&Q store at Fife Central Retail Park.
B&Q has apologised to local residents who have complained about noise at night in the stores yard that backs onto housing.
A spokesperson said: "We are mindful of the fact that noise can carry from our site to our neighbours and always strive to keep this to a minimum, which is why we have now removed the tannoy system.
"We are also making changes to our forklift vehicles by fitting new low-noise alarms to them to reduce the sound output even further."
Fife police said they were working with Fife Council environment services to provide a long-term solution to the problem.
