LONDON: B&Q is offering a van-hire service for shoppers of bulky items. The deal with car rental company Hertz allows customers to collect up a van outside the store for £14 an hour and at 30p a mile
Instead of free delivery typical from most merchants B&Q is "providing customers with an affordable way of taking items home," said a spokesperson
After a 23-week pilot across seven stores, Connect by Hertz vans will be rolled out to 137 B&Q stores in the UK from today. Van hire from hire companies usually costs £10 to £17 per hour.
