Travis Perkins Managed Services (TPMS) has secured a new contract to supply building materials to Great Yarmouth Borough Council (GYBC) for the repair and maintenance of its stock of social housing properties.
Great Yarmouth Borough Council owns and manages 5,764 social housing properties throughout the historic seaside town. The contract, which could run to 2029, will see all materials and products fulfilled from the Great Yarmouth Travis Perkins branch.
To ensure operatives from the council can get in and out as quickly as possible, TPMS will install a dedicated trade counter and storage area, supported by two full-time members of staff, just for use by GYBC operatives.

This could be implementing a trade counter as we're doing to support Great Yarmouth Borough Council, or through one of our other options such as dedicated pop-up branches, or deploying autonomous TPgo SelfServe units.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council will also use TPMS's TPgo Suite, including TPgo Data and TPgo Order.
TPgo Data is a back-office software platform that enables the tracking and monitoring of materials and jobs, while TPgo Order allows operatives to pre-order products ready for collection at the branch, and van stock ensures that GYBC's fleet of vehicles is always stocked with the most commonly used products and materials.

"We were very impressed with the additional advantages that the TPgo suite will provide our teams, from the operatives on the ground being able to collect their pre-orders from a dedicated counter, to the back office team having the most up-to-the-minute information at their fingertips.
"The van stock system is going to be a massive help in reducing time lost when our operatives have to go back and forth to branches, meaning that our residents can rest assured that their repair and maintenance jobs will be completed more quickly."
TPMS was appointed following a mini-competition run via PfH's Materials Supply Framework, with full support provided to Great Yarmouth Borough Council throughout the procurement process.
