A new distribution and training hub creates major partnership milestone.
Codi Group and Jewson Partnership Solutions have officially opened their new state-of-the-art distribution and training hub in Rhymney, marking a major milestone in their strategic partnership and a significant investment in the future of repairs, skills and service delivery across South Wales.
The new facility is set to transform the way Codi Group delivers its growing in-house repairs and maintenance service, bringing together smarter stock management, faster distribution and dedicated training facilities under one roof. There will be five staff members to start with, and potential to increase during the duration of the contract. The hub will service 5,500 properties within the local area, whilst supporting Codi's 25,000 homes across South Wales. It also aims to support students by exploring opportunities to work with local colleges.
Designed with efficiency and future growth in mind, the hub provides a central base for kitchens, bathrooms, void materials, van stock and bulk-purchased building materials. By streamlining supply chains and ensuring materials are available when and where they're needed, the facility will help teams work more efficiently and deliver an even better service to customers.
Positioned in the heart of the South Wales Valleys, with excellent links to the A465 and A470, the Rhymney hub puts Codi and JPS in a stronger position to serve communities across Merthyr Tydfil, Aberdare, Ebbw Vale, Blackwood, Ystrad Mynach and Cardiff.
Its central location will help reduce travel times, improve material availability and keep repairs moving, delivering real benefits for colleagues and customers alike.
More than just a distribution centre, the Rhymney hub is also home to a dedicated Training Centre, combining hands-on workshop facilities with modern classroom learning spaces. The centre will give apprentices, subcontractors and partners opportunities to develop practical skills, share knowledge and build expertise. It will also support wider community initiatives, helping inspire the next generation and create pathways into skilled trades and green careers.
Sustainability has been built into the facility from the outset. With solar photovoltaic panels, EV charging infrastructure, energy-efficient design and modern building standards, the hub reflects both organisations' commitment to reducing environmental impact while investing in long-term operational resilience.
John Connolly, Director of Trades at Codi Group, said: "The opening of our Rhymney hub is a real milestone for Codi and our partnership with JPS. This is about much more than a new building. It's about giving our teams the tools, materials and skills they need to deliver a great service for our customers.
"By bringing distribution and training together in one place, we're creating a smarter, more efficient operation while investing in our people and the future of our communities. It's an exciting step forward and a strong foundation for what's next."
Andy Wallace, Regional Partnership Manager at JPS, added: "Our partnership with Codi continues to go from strength to strength, and the opening of Rhymney is a fantastic example of what we can achieve together.
"This facility brings together innovation, operational efficiency and skills development in one location. It's a significant investment in our shared future and will help us deliver even greater value for Codi, its customers and communities across South Wales."
With the Rhymney hub now open, Codi and JPS have taken another important step in strengthening repairs and maintenance services across South Wales. Combining improved distribution, investment in skills and a commitment to sustainability, the new facility is more than an operational upgrade. It's a platform for growth, better services and lasting benefits for the communities Codi serves.
